As I walked through the snow swept pathways here in Canada I noticed that the birds have changed their tune. Spring is approaching and the days are getting longer. For the last few months I have been exploring extreme cold temperatures -40C and contemplating my journey last year in the Kalahari of extreme heat +40C. Quite a head spin to say the least. It has made me contemplate our inner temperature or core, but not in the physical sense but something much deeper. I believe all human beings can survive in any climate. We just have to yield to the elements and not fight them. This is the same for our spiritual practice.

My monthly Webinar will take place this Thursday. The theme will be ‘Developing a Personal Practice’; prayer vs meditation. We will explore balancing dynamic practice like yoga, trance dancing, chanting with meditation and stillness. Sometimes we need to shake our spirit loose and sometimes we need to sit quietly & listen. Join me and a global community of open hearted people at 11am Pacific (Seattle), 2pm EST (New York), 7pm UK (London), 9pm South Africa (Cape Town). If you can’t make the designated time, don’t worry, a recording will be sent out a few days later.

In the spirit of Ubuntu I have decided to launch a live stream via FB & YouTube every 2 weeks called uMoya Hour with John Lockley. uMoya means Spirit in isiXhosa and isiZulu from South Africa. I will chant, drum and guide people in simple meditations. The focus is to uplift, connect and help unite our human circle with nature. This is an ambitious project and it is stretching my technological skills. Feel free to join me this Wed for a different experience of chanting & drumming.
