plant spirit medicine: Healing & Protection rituals
For the purpose of these webinars, non-hallucinogenic plants will be focused on.
Plant spirit medicine is central to the work of traditional shamans, in particular sangoma culture in Southern Africa. Plants have the power to heal us, open our consciousness and protect our spirit. They also help us navigate our dreams, sparking new ones through opening doorways and portals; as well as helping us to remember our dreams and life purpose.
Connecting with plants on a cellular level is akin to connecting to our own spirit. It involves slowing down and feeling the life giving sap (blood) through our veins. In the sangoma culture plant spirit dreams are seen as a sign from the ancestral/ spirit world that the person is ready for deeper spiritual knowledge or ‘indaba’ (spirit news), transmitted from the wisdom keepers of the human race, our ancestors. Each plant has a story to tell, and it is said that the healing we need is often found close to our homes, or a short distance from where we sleep.
The next Webinar will explore:
Sunday 27th September:Plant spirit rituals for healing & protection - A guided discussion on how to work with local household plants for personal healing & protection. We will also discuss ways to protect your home, car and general living space.
NB: This webinar series is an invitation to rediscover the living intelligence of the plant world.
Through traditional sangoma teachings, guided journeys, and practical rituals, you'll learn to cultivate a respectful relationship with plant spirits, deepen your connection to nature and your ancestors, and bring greater healing, protection, and balance into your everyday life.
Each Webinar runs as a ceremony with a guided meditation, some chanting and an invocation in isiXhosa to lift the energy. They last 75 mins.
John will give a 20 min talk to introduce this month’s theme. People can then ask questions.
