He will be joined by his special guest, Alwyn Myburgh, a well known safari guide, tracker and nature conservationist.

They will discuss the role of matriarchs in the animal kingdom with special emphasis placed on Lions, Elephants, Hyaena & Wild Dogs, to name a few. Lions are seen as been patriarchal with the male lions ruling their kingdom, but on closer inspection it is matriarchal in terms of the life of the pride being dependent on the lioness. Maybe the same could be said for humanity and why we are out of balance with ourselves? Something to ponder…

In many traditional cultures the earth is personified in a feminine way, as a goddess. For instance Mother nature is a focus on the life giving and nurturing aspects of nature. However, modern Western culture doesn’t adequately honour the feminine. This is witnessed through gender inequality and environmental destruction, resulting in tremendous suffering in the plant, animal & human worlds.
