My video event with Stephen Dinan from the Shift Network went very well. Please click the image to view the event. You need to scroll down the page to view the video.
In the video I discuss the importance of connecting to our Ancestors. Humanity right now is struggling with social, political and environmental issues. The root of our pain could lie in our relationship with our families and ancestors. We know when the roots of a tree is strong the branches and leaves flourish. The same can be said for us.
I am excited to be offering a 7-week intensive course with the Shift network, starting on August 23rd. This is the first time I have offered a teaching course like this and I am very excited to spread these wonderful teachings around the world. If you can’t make the live sessions a recording will be sent to you.
My intention for doing this course is to help educate people about the importance of connecting to their Ancestors. In the early years of my teaching career I use to return home to my Xhosa elders in the Eastern Cape and tell them about my travels. When I told them people didn’t dream about their ancestors and didn’t know how to connect with them, they were silent. They were shocked as it is unheard of for traditional african people to not have a relationship with their ancestors. Their response was an emphatic “hamba phesheya! Fundisa abantu ukuthandaza izinyanya zabo !” Go overseas and teach people how to connect to their ancestors!
It is understood by us in traditional South Africa that if you don’t connect to your ancestors then you are not fully connected to your ‘Ubuntu’ - humanity. I encourage all of you who are reading this to sign up for my course. Not for you but for your community! For both your ancestors and your children. We increase our spiritual self esteem through understanding where we come from. This lends itself to compassion, empathy and openness of heart and mind. It is a journey, a human journey. Join us.
Feel free to share this email with your community and anyone looking to reconnect to their vitality; roots and ancestors. 🌍
May the music of your people open your heart and mind 🙏.
